Veronica x 'Reavis' (Crystal River® Speedwell) is a cross between Veronica liwanensis (Turkish Veronica) and Veronica pectinate (Blue Woolly Speedwell), combining the best qualities of both well-loved parents. It is tolerant of occasional foot traffic, making it useful as a lawn replacement in low-traffic areas. It spreads wide with scalloped, dark green, tiny-leaved foliage that is covered with blue flowers in mid-spring. Thereafter blossoms will appear through the summer. Plant it in clay, loam, or sandy well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. Heat and drought-tolerant once established. Deer-resistant, this evergreen groundcover will thrive in high elevation altitudes up to 8000 feet. Native to southern Eurasia, ‘Reavis’ is an all-around low-maintenance addition to the garden.
